How to search

There are two different ways you can search:

Search for persons

A search can be initiated with just a family name. If a first name, a place of origin or the destination of migration is also specified, the results are filtered accordingly. When searching for a person, at least the family name must be specified; it is not possible to search for first names only.

Search for locations

If a place of origin and/or a destination of migration and no name is specified, a search for locations is performed.

The search for persons and places can be combined as required. If you do not want any higher-level territorial entities to be searched, switch this option.
